Round-up parade

Our town has the coolest parade. It consists of what they call mini floats. Lots wards in the area make a float and participate. Our ward does a float every other year. Fun for the kids to be in the parade one year and watch it the next year. I am always impressed with the ideas people come up with. This year Abi got to sit on the side lines. She thought about crutching the 2 1/2 mile parade route, but decided against it. Then she really wanted the Spencer and William to pull her in the wagon the whole parade route, but I didn't really think they could do that. So she got to sit and watch the parade instead. She would work the candy a little with her cast. She would hold up her cast and people would throw the candy right to her.
Since David is now a Scout he had a honor of pulling the float. He is in the brown/orange/white shirt and red hat.
Spencer got to walk the parade the theme of our float was "If I Could I Would go to the Beach", so all the kids dressed up like they were going to the beach. Spencer had great props. he is the the blue shorts with the floatie around him.
William came over close to us to raid Abi's candy stash. He was definitely ready for the beach!
"IF I COULD I WOULD"

This is Becky's ward's float. They always have great ideas. It is a singles ward, so kinds funny!
Oh and Becky just loves every minute of it. You can definitely tell when she is happy and she was happy!!!!! So many lessons to be learned from her. If the simple things could make us all as happy as they make her we would be pretty happy! They were giving out candy kisses. Pretty cute!!!!!!!!!! Fun times! We all love parades.

a tribute to David

I followed David around the yard on Father's day and snapped a few pictures of a few of his favorite things. He found some goods in the garden. A cabbage and strawberries.
He loves to watch his bees.
Loves to work in the garden!
Loves to play with his kids. Notice the baseball mitt.
We made him a yummy dinner but only got pictures of the dessert. His favorite blueberry pie and cheese cake. Pretty tasty!
David is such and good father and provider for us all. Thanks for all you do for us. We should honor you every day of the year! Love ya!!

Look what Spencer found

It is so fun to find things to that you can eat in the garden. Spencer thinks it is so fun when things are ready or almost ready to pick. We have a few strawberries and then some tomatoes are set on, now it is just waiting for them to turn red.

David's new Love

So David has a new sport that he is loving to play. He has been wanting to play lacrosse for a couple years now, and our city just this year added it to their rec program. We really aren't too familiar with it all , but we are learning it.
They wear pads and a helmet 'cuz there is a lot of pushing and throwing the stick around. It is a fast paced exciting sport.

Strawberry Days Rodeo

And this is the reason to go the the Strawberry Days Rodeo!!!!
These are the yummiest strawberries and cream you will ever get! They used to be just a $1 and this year they were $1.25 still pretty good treat!
William had to get in his cowboy gear. Pretty cute! Thanks to Kristin to thinking of us, when her friend were unable to use their tickets, and offered them to us. It was the perfect night to have ticket because it was free kids night too. Fun times! We enjoy rodeos and even better with a cup of strawberries in hand! Oh wait we each had two cups. Our dad just couldn't resist a second round.
This is the cash cow event. They tape cash all over the cow and let the kids run after it and try to get the cash off. Kinda funny! With 100 kids running after it the cow doesn't have a chance.

doughnuts for A's

Did you know if your kids take their report cards to Krispy Kreme they can get free doughnuts. Yep up to 6 a piece. We had a doughnut adventure for sure! We weren't sure how it all worked so I decided to buy some first. I have a card where I can buy one dozen get a dozen free. So I got all those. Then we handed the report cards over and the kids each got 6 doughnuts a piece. (which equals 24) Then we all got a free warm doughnut. Yes that equals a lot. 56 to be exact! We did end up sharing with my brother and we shared some with Logan family. We didn't get any pictures of them actually eating any doughnuts, by the time I got the camera out we were all sick from eating too many doughnuts.

Oh we were so happy that Anne came on a freight run and got to share this adventure with us! And can you tell by all the pictures Becky was just loving the night! Oh another note I spent $8.62 and we got all those doughnuts. What a deal for KK doughnuts! YUMMY! When I told my sister in law that it was $8.62 she thought I said I ate 62 doughtnuts. That would be an interesting site!! Remember don't throw those report cards away before you cash in!!

home made firework

This is what happens when you leave the fire starter to close to the fire you just started. It made quite a loud sound and melted pretty good. Glad it wasn't any bigger than just this.
I can only imagine what might happen.

What phase 10 can cause

We are playing a game of phase 10. It can go on for ever so when we play at different times we are just going to pick up where we left off. I think some of us made it to phase 3 so it is going to take a little to finish up the game.
Dad gets to sit between both little boys that means he will play three hands. :) Sometimes when you have lots of people playing some of the kids wander. He is David doing a little wandering. He has always loved paper and like to create anything with paper. Here was his idea this night.
Funny boy!

lOts O spOrts

We had some of our cousins in town this weekend and they got to see William and David play some sports. William had a baseball game and a soccer game. David had a Lacrosse game. Macee was happy to help Abi carry her pink purse. It was so cute. Just what Abi needed to help her through another week some cousins!
William is on the White Sox this year. He is playing machine pitch. He is very excited to be able to run more than one base. Actually he has even hit a home run in this league. He is so excited!
Changing from baseball to soccer. At least they were at the same park.

William with some good friends. Matthew, Tyler Bradford and Licoln. Coach Ceasar in the back ground. Fun time playing soccer.

Friday date

So we have been trying to do a little more dating, each other of course. We had the idea to go on a hike. It was really fun! We went to the dry creek trail head and hike up a little way. It was very neat to look out over the valley. The creek wasn't so dry. It was really loud with lots of water running down it! Very pretty hike and lots of the wild flowers were in bloom.

David's first Temple trip

I can't believe that David is old enough to go to the temple. For sure an exciting time! So the story this week was that he was really supposed to be at Scout camp this week, but it was canceled due to the Swine Flu at the scout camp he was to go to. So good things come out of what you might think is bad. When I heard that the youth temple trip was scheduled for the same week I was dissapointed, but it all worked out. Scout camp will now be the August.
So Logan and David had a baseball game that wanted very badly to be to so I was there waiting to run them to that. I was glad I had the camera and thought to take a picture. Handsome Deacons!

Cast Day!

The last few minutes with the splint on.

The X-Rays looked good and it was ready for the cast!
Dr. Wells putting the cast on. Purple of course!

All new and stylin'!
Abi has moved into Becky's sitting room! Thanks Beck for being so patient! Abi has her set up in there.
Her cast even matches her toe nail polish. Couldn't have been a better match. Abi wants to get a silver sharpie to decorate her cast with. I think she will keep it clean for a few days though. She gets to wear this cast for 4 weeks then a walking boot for 4 weeks. It is going to be a long summer. But remember she is the queen for the whole summer! :)

LOVE to the Queen

Brotherly love! David has been very good to help Abi when needed or when she calls! He is better at bending over then I am and it feels better to her when her leg is held up. Thanks bro for your help we couldn't have made it with out you!

Bathroom run!

Abi was so happy when a few of her coaches came by to see how she was. They brought by balloons, a teddy bear and some candy. It made her happy! Thanks for coming by coaches!

We took her for a little walk on Sunday. She is getting a little cabin fever. We rigged the chair in the wagon and went around the block. She seems happy to be out for a short walk. Yes she is the queen! We decided not just for the day or week, but for the summer! Enjoy it while you can sweetie!

Dad said it was good therapy for his knee to pull her. :)
