Mascot Bowl

We went to the Mascot Bowl here in town. It was very entertaining! Mascots came from all over the country to participate. The Jazz Bear came on the field on a zip line.
Then they had 3 sky divers. I don't think me kids had ever seen sky divers before, so it was kind of exciting!
The Mascots played against a 8th grade team or around that age of boys.
Enjoying the evening!
I never have seen the little Jazz bear before. He is pretty cute!
Barney got hurt. I kinda think it was a planned thing. Kinda funny! They put him on a stretcher and all.
Needless to say that the Mascots won. They were pretty good plus they had a great quarterback that probably played for a local Arena Football team, so he could maneuver around the young boys quite well. Fun, entertaining night for not too much money and the money goes to a charity that helps underprivileged children shop for their families for Christmas. We will see you there next year.

Happy 70th Birthday!!!!

My dad turned 70 this year! I was feelin' bad that I wasn't able to be in B-town for the big celebration. It turned out that he had to come up on his special day to pick up a truck for the cemetery. Happy day for us we did get to celebrate the big day with him. We made him a nice dinner and some of his favorite desserts, PIE and PIE!

The sign was made by Abi! She is a great sign maker and Grandpa LOVED it!!
70 years we hope there is 70 more! Love ya dad!!!!!

Funny story from the visit before this one Abi asked Grandpa what his favorite treat was and he said, "applesauce pie." She then asked him what his favorite veggie was he said, "pie, squash pie." Then she asked what his favorite math was to do, he said, "trigonometry". Abi said, "I thought you were going to say pie." We all got a good laugh! Grandpa LOVES PIE!

Growin' UP!

William is a funny kid! Not too sure where he gets his ideas, but he can put a smile on anyones face!He has a beard made from suds and then he decided to pull out his dads razor and pretend he was shaving. Not too sure where the Pirate patch idea came from and the extra padding for his belly? Funny boy!!!! Love ya William!
And we wonder why it takes so long to get the kids in bed. They get distracted very easily! Is it the mirrors fault? Any ideas?

One of our Favorite Traditions!

We have had this tradition for several years now and
it has got to be one of our favorites! We love to go to the fruit way and check out all the fruit on Labor Day. This year we didn't really need to buy a lot to put up, but we couldn't miss out on the yummy fresh fruit shakes from Pettingale's. SO YUMMY!!!!!

Another of our favorite stops, Smith and Edwards! If you haven't ever been here, it is a must shop some time. They have everything!!!!!!!!

Labor Day in Idaho

Thanks Grammy and Michelle for a great labor day weekend!Poor David got stung! His hand was so swollen. We are hoping that he isn't developing a serious allergy to the bees. He could still breath so that is good.
What David would look like if he was chubby!
William taking a taste of the yummy honey!
Spencer helping spin the honey out of the frames.
Here is the heated knife it slices off the outer layer of wax.
Look at that beautiful honey run out. This is our 3rd year to have honey bees. The first two years we got about 5 gallons each year and the 3rd year we got 12 gallons. It was a great year! We had good success with just keeping our bees alive also. The past couple years we have completely lost one to two hives. So we were happy to keep all our bees this year. We started the summer with 6 hives and ended with 8 due to the swarm we captured and then David split one of our hives that was very large. They both seem to be doing well. A very fun family project we do together. They kids have sold lots of honey this year. They are almost out for this season.
They have a very cool Merry go Round in Rexburg. Funny thing is this is the first time we have ever gone and enjoyed it.
The kids had a great time!
Next to the Merry go Round they have a great little water park.Spencer was really enjoying himself. It thought this was a great shot!Luckily we had some towels in the van. We hadn't really planned on getting so wet. One of those things we are always glad we have in the van when we need a towel.
The kids love to play tennis. It always happens in Rexburg if they play.
Abi our poser! She makes a cute tennis player. We had a little break for some cotton candy! My kids love that stuff!
One of Grammy's favorite flower beds on campus.
See the flower in the rock. There is a hole in the rock and Grammy had her crew plan a flower in the hole. It did great all summer! Kinda fun!
We all love Michelle!
Taking a rest, by some really nice flowers of course!
Grammy has so many pretty flowers!
Some more of Grammy's beautiful flowers.
Playing leap frog. Just a little something to help get us up the hill.
Awesome tree in the gardens @ BYUI.
Dog pile on David!
Awesome harvest moon and the Rexburg temple.

Peaches Peaches and more Peaches

We had such a great crop of peaches this year. We have 4 peach trees and they all produced so well this year. It was fun to eat fresh peaches for nearly 2 months straight. David bottles lots and we froze lots too. So fun to have fresh fruit in the back yard!
