Happy Birthday BECKY!

video
Becky had a great birthday!!
The neighbor girls saw the sign on the door and came up with a little performance for the special day. It was pretty cute! I asked Becky what kind of a cake she wanted this year. Having in mind that I have a coupon for a Cold Stone IceCream cake that I thought we would all enjoy. She told me that she wanted a turkey cake. I told her about the coupon I have to get an ice cream cake, but she could not be persuaded. So a turkey cake it is. I somewhat cheated and just cut the head and tail off a paper turkey we had. It turned out perfect for her. She loved it!!!
Becky has been working on a scarf and hat for herself. She wants to model it on Thursday at Special Needs Mutual for their annual Talent Show. Here is the scarf. It matches her coat great too. She is the looming machine. She has made over 100 items. She even sold a few at work last week. Good goin' Beck! She can whip hats and scarfs out in no time.
Becky got many nice gifts! She was quite spoiled as she should be.
She got a much talked about watch! Happy day!!! Her watch had broke a few weeks ago.
Yay a new shower curtain.
She got a Stan Bronson CD "Stars Over Grayson" from our parents.
Since Beck is the looming machine we gave her some yarn.
Beck was so excited to get a new camera!!! It is just like mine just pink instead of blue.
Becky wanted to go to a movie for her birthday so we headed over to Sticky Foot, which wasn't so sticky and saw "Shorts". It was fair. The kids enjoyed it.
We made a 29 out of the candles. Can you believe my little sister is 29? WOW! I can hardly believe it myself. Wish I looked as young as she does.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECKY!! We love you lots!

Blogging All Caught Up!

So over the last week I have been able to get caught up on my blogging. For some reason I do blogging marathons. So I have posted 16 new post in the last week. I just don't want the Grandma's and Grandpa's to miss anything important. I also post date events just to keep it in order for me and the blog book I will some day do. Hope you enjoy!

Squeakin' Strings

video
David is a member of a Band. His teacher formed the band most for her son, but it also benefits those that she invited to join in the fun. They usually practice once a week for an hour or so. I think it has helped David in many ways other than just playing the guitar better. They performed a while back and have some Christmas gigs lined up too. He thinks it is all pretty fun and wants to play more string instruments because of it. The band is called Squeakin' Strings.

William's field trip

I love when I get to go on field trips and go to parties at school for my kids. I got to go on yet another field trip. This time with William. First we ate lunch in the lunch room. Oh yeah we were supposed to go to Cornbelly's and this day turned out to be kinda wintry. So instead we went to the Dinosaur Museum.
William and friends digging for dinosaur bones in the sand.

Mascot Bowl

We went to the Mascot Bowl here in town. It was very entertaining! Mascots came from all over the country to participate. The Jazz Bear came on the field on a zip line.
Then they had 3 sky divers. I don't think me kids had ever seen sky divers before, so it was kind of exciting!
The Mascots played against a 8th grade team or around that age of boys.
Enjoying the evening!
I never have seen the little Jazz bear before. He is pretty cute!
Barney got hurt. I kinda think it was a planned thing. Kinda funny! They put him on a stretcher and all.
Needless to say that the Mascots won. They were pretty good plus they had a great quarterback that probably played for a local Arena Football team, so he could maneuver around the young boys quite well. Fun, entertaining night for not too much money and the money goes to a charity that helps underprivileged children shop for their families for Christmas. We will see you there next year.

I really love watching my kids play sports. Sorry for my crazy Whoa whoos. I get kinda excited!

Happy 70th Birthday!!!!

My dad turned 70 this year! I was feelin' bad that I wasn't able to be in B-town for the big celebration. It turned out that he had to come up on his special day to pick up a truck for the cemetery. Happy day for us we did get to celebrate the big day with him. We made him a nice dinner and some of his favorite desserts, PIE and PIE!

The sign was made by Abi! She is a great sign maker and Grandpa LOVED it!!
70 years we hope there is 70 more! Love ya dad!!!!!

Funny story from the visit before this one Abi asked Grandpa what his favorite treat was and he said, "applesauce pie." She then asked him what his favorite veggie was he said, "pie, squash pie." Then she asked what his favorite math was to do, he said, "trigonometry". Abi said, "I thought you were going to say pie." We all got a good laugh! Grandpa LOVES PIE!

Growin' UP!

William is a funny kid! Not too sure where he gets his ideas, but he can put a smile on anyones face!He has a beard made from suds and then he decided to pull out his dads razor and pretend he was shaving. Not too sure where the Pirate patch idea came from and the extra padding for his belly? Funny boy!!!! Love ya William!
And we wonder why it takes so long to get the kids in bed. They get distracted very easily! Is it the mirrors fault? Any ideas?

One of our Favorite Traditions!

We have had this tradition for several years now and
it has got to be one of our favorites! We love to go to the fruit way and check out all the fruit on Labor Day. This year we didn't really need to buy a lot to put up, but we couldn't miss out on the yummy fresh fruit shakes from Pettingale's. SO YUMMY!!!!!

Another of our favorite stops, Smith and Edwards! If you haven't ever been here, it is a must shop some time. They have everything!!!!!!!!

Labor Day in Idaho

Thanks Grammy and Michelle for a great labor day weekend!Poor David got stung! His hand was so swollen. We are hoping that he isn't developing a serious allergy to the bees. He could still breath so that is good.
What David would look like if he was chubby!
William taking a taste of the yummy honey!
Spencer helping spin the honey out of the frames.
Here is the heated knife it slices off the outer layer of wax.
Look at that beautiful honey run out. This is our 3rd year to have honey bees. The first two years we got about 5 gallons each year and the 3rd year we got 12 gallons. It was a great year! We had good success with just keeping our bees alive also. The past couple years we have completely lost one to two hives. So we were happy to keep all our bees this year. We started the summer with 6 hives and ended with 8 due to the swarm we captured and then David split one of our hives that was very large. They both seem to be doing well. A very fun family project we do together. They kids have sold lots of honey this year. They are almost out for this season.
They have a very cool Merry go Round in Rexburg. Funny thing is this is the first time we have ever gone and enjoyed it.
The kids had a great time!
Next to the Merry go Round they have a great little water park.Spencer was really enjoying himself. It thought this was a great shot!Luckily we had some towels in the van. We hadn't really planned on getting so wet. One of those things we are always glad we have in the van when we need a towel.
The kids love to play tennis. It always happens in Rexburg if they play.
Abi our poser! She makes a cute tennis player. We had a little break for some cotton candy! My kids love that stuff!
One of Grammy's favorite flower beds on campus.
See the flower in the rock. There is a hole in the rock and Grammy had her crew plan a flower in the hole. It did great all summer! Kinda fun!
We all love Michelle!
Taking a rest, by some really nice flowers of course!
Grammy has so many pretty flowers!
Some more of Grammy's beautiful flowers.
Playing leap frog. Just a little something to help get us up the hill.
Awesome tree in the gardens @ BYUI.
Dog pile on David!
Awesome harvest moon and the Rexburg temple.

Peaches Peaches and more Peaches

We had such a great crop of peaches this year. We have 4 peach trees and they all produced so well this year. It was fun to eat fresh peaches for nearly 2 months straight. David bottles lots and we froze lots too. So fun to have fresh fruit in the back yard!

Families are Forever!

At Stake Conference it was suggested that we take our kids to the temple and get pictures and spend time there so they will know and understand the importance of Temples. We headed up there right after conference while we were still dressed up (much to my families dismay). Plus I wanted to try out my new camera a little more. Here are some pictures we got. They turned out pretty good. LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!

Blackberry Heaven

Here is our little friend we have tried to use to keep the birds out of our fruit trees. And actually he didn't really work. But fun to have him in the back yard. We wish he were a little meaner, cuz the birds really liked the fruit. And the frustrating thing is they don't even eat the whole piece of fruit they only peck one side of it and leave it to the birds, oh I mean leave it to the humans. :)
Abi found this leaf in the blackberries. We thought it was original, but we did find a couple other during the year. Kinda cool.
That is the fun thing about blackberries in our yard you and eat as you pick. Glad the kids like berries!
Some of the blackberries get so big.
We probably got 4-5 gallon bags of blackberries this year. We flash freeze them and store them in the freezer for yummy treats all year long.
