Well wishers

So Abi had surgery and had two pins put in her ankle. She has a splint for a week then we will go back and get a hard cast next week. She will have to be on cruchtes for 4 weeks then a walking cast for 4 more weeks. Hopefully be back to the gym about then and the pins out in 4 more weeks. For now we will just take it a day at a time and keep her dopped up on Lortab. She has had many well wishers would think it was Christmas around here! She is so lucky to have so many people that care about her! And actually it has helped make her focus on something other than what she can't do. So THANKS!

Whitney and Breanna made this little performance up just for Abi. It is really cute!!!! Good Job girls!
One of her other friends made this poster and brought it by. So fun! Abi loves candy so she was so excited! Thanks Sam!
Here are several other things that people have brought by. Thanks so much for helping the time pass by a little quicker and with happiness. Thanks everyone!! I think we will make it!

Abi's sad start to summer!

This was Abi on Saturday at her meet and this was Abi Monday morning. SAD!!!

Yes she broke her foot at Gymnastics practice. Luckily I was still at the gym walking the track. I heard a scream from down below and I knew that was my daughter. She was going over the chunky vault mat and landed between the landing mat and the chunky mat. Broken ankle was the verdict. She had a ride to the hospital in the ambulance and all. I questioned was that really necessary and they told me they would give her some morphine to help with the pain. I made the quick decision that would be the best. Then deciding whether I ride in the ambulance with her or drive my van over. I decided to drive over but asked if brother David could ride with her. They said yes. So went out to get in and they made David ride in the front seat with the driver so he could wear a seat belt. What's the point of that? Oh well, she going to get pain meds right? Well sad thing the paramedic hit the artery instead of the vain, so no pain meds for Abi. The paramedic did feel bad. She was a little traumatized but made it to the ER okay.

She had a lot of swelling in her ankle. They took her in for x-rays then we had to wait along time for the specialist to come.

This is before pain meds and then after pain meds. What a difference. Thank heaven for pain meds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily dad had his phone with him so she could email and text. She thought that was pretty fun!

And my good friend Jane came over to pickup David and take him home and she brought the camera. Abi was entertaining herself by taking pictures.

She wanted one last ride in the wheel chair before she left. Dad was going to just carry her out, but this made her happy to ride. Oh and the orthopedic surgeron said surgery the next day.

Her brothers were thinking of her while she was away! Abi is normally the sign maker at our house, but the boys are learning! She loved it!!!!!!
Over all it is really sad, but we are greatful it is just a broken ankle that will heal in a few months. Nothing life threatening or that will last forever. We really do have much to be grateful for and can't complain too much. It will just make summer a little slower for us which will probably be nice. Abi really just wanted to get out of summer jobs, like mowing and weeding. Now if she could have figured out how to do that without missing gymnastics too???? HUMMM??? She is really sad we won't be going to the summer games this weekend and she will miss the state meet, but oh well. It isn't the end of the world. These things are bound to happen right when you do these kind of sports RIGHT? We love ya Abi and hope you get better real soon!!!!

David and the kids dung some holes and put up some poles for the slackline. They are pretty beefy! They should provide hours of fun right in the backyard. They are right down the center of the orchard. Fun Times!!!

So the bird eggs hatched. The kids have been so excited! The baby birds have been running around the back yard. We got up pretty close and the mom bird didn't like it. She was cherping like crazy!

Schools Out for Summer!

The Bretey kids last day of school. Hard to believe another school year has come and gone. The only year my kids will all be in Elementary school.
Spencer had a great K-garten year! We were lucky enough to get Mrs. Paxman again! She was William's K-garten teacher too. Spence has had a great start to his many years in school!
William has really progressed nicely this year! He had a wonderful teacher, Miss Oliekan. She was also Abi's 1st grade teacher. He had a great class and learned so many great life lessons this year as well as academic lessons. He is a great reader, good at math, and loves art!
Abi has had a good year with a great teacher, Miss Smith! 5th grade is a fun year to learn about American History. Abi's class was a challenge, but the teacher hung in there and made it a good year even though there were moments that she wanted to quite. Abi teacher says she is so helpful too.
Daivd had an amazing teacher as well. He has been in the Accellerated Learning Lab Program aka ALL. It has been a great couple years that have been challenging yet fulling. He has learned so much and had so many great experiences. We are proud of him for wanting to do something and sticking to it and accomplishing it! Now he is already for Junior High next year! I am not sure I am though.

I am so proud of all my kids for all their hard work and the way they act when they are away from home. Their teacher's feed back is always possitive, which is a relief as a parent. Luckily we have had great teacher that really care too. Thank heavens for good teachers! Thanks for a great year!!!! Now lets make it a great summer!

David and Spencer's Birthday

David and Spencer share a birthday. They both think it is pretty neat! Spencer wanted a pommel horse cake, and this is the best mom could do. I know nice try. :)
Spencer wanted to have a pinata so we made one. He decided to have a mouse. It was going to be gray and at the last minute Dad decided to make it Ricky Mouse. Cousins so Mickey Mouse. Spencer thought it was pretty cool, and for last minute paint job it was pretty neat! Good Job Dad!
After Spence got out of school I took him and met up with dad for a birthday lunch at Wingers.
Hard to believe my baby is 6 years old! We love ya Spence!! We love you too Dad!
Happy birthday boys!
These pictures are of the Actual Birthday

These pictures are at Spencer's party a couple days later.

HoMe rUn CeLeBraTion

David made his first home run ever! It definitely deserved some celebrating so we headed over to Emmet's and Ethel's for some ice cream treats. For this picture David had to borrow Becky's ice cream cone, because he is the fastest ice cream eater ever! Thanks Beck for sharing for the picture!
Good Job Bro!!!!!!! You are quite the baseball player!!!!
We all love to come to the ball field and watch you play!

Swarm

So we have had two different swarms of bees in our yard in the last couple weeks. The first one flew away and the second one David and David were able to capture and put into a hive box. It Was all very cool and way exciting to get free bees! We don't think they were our own bees, but we aren't for sure. Our hives seem to have all their bees Abi said after she counted them all. HA HA!!
So this was the first swarm. It landed on the lilac bush.
Here are a few pictures of the swarm that was in the peach tree. My bee keepers are capturing them.

The other cool thing in our yard this spring is a kill deer bird sitting on her eggs. She gets quite crazy if you get too close. I will have to post some pictures if and when they hatch.

Baby Chicks

Okay so some of our neighbors got these chicks for the kids for Easter and I just had to post pictures of them. They are so cool. I guess someone shoots dye into the egg and the chicks come out colored. They eventually go back to the normal color they will be. My kids thought they were great.

Mother's day Kid fun

The kids were having fun riding Becky's trike and hooking up the wagon. They were pretty cute!
Then we went to the park to do a little slacklining. Abi got a Slackline for her birthday. David saw it at a Outdoors Expo Event. It is pretty cool and the kids are only getting better and better. There are some pretty cool footage on You Tube of some pretty cool slackliners. The kids think it is great!

It was a fun Mother's day! I should have taken picture of the fabulous meals that were made for my by my family. They were delious! Thanks fam!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers! This picture was taken when I was 3. My mom is in the back and my grandma Pratt is holding me. I am lucky to be named after my my grandma's Virginia Mae Adams Pratt and Klea Washburn Palmer. Thank you all for a wonderful heritage. I tried to find a picture of my grandma Klea, but I didn't have any success. She passed away when I was 8.
Here are all my siblings when I was the baby. My older sister was my second mommy. She loved me and was so excited to have a sister after 5 brothers. And of course we were all excited when our littlest sister arrived Becky!

Becky was and is the joy of our lives. She is about 3 in these pictures. She loves animals especially kittens when she was young.
I love you mom! Happy mothers day!
And this is what makes my mother's day great!

I love my kids! Thanks for the great day! I am glad to be your mom!

Hope Of America

Fifth grade students from all over the county can participate in Hope of America, if they choose.
I think it is a pretty amazing program teaching patriotism and American History. David did it last year and Abi this year. Despite the crowd I still think it is worth attending.

I Love America

This is an older women dancing group. Jean's Golden Girls. They really got the groove. This one is a 92 year young lady doing the splits. Pretty amazing!!!! I am not sure if it is Jean herself, but how would you like to do that at 92?

This is America

Thank you Military!!!
