Crazy hair day at school

Some how time has slipped away from me. I have so many events to post. It still might take me a few days to get things going the next few days are pretty packed too. The kids had crazy hair day at school a couple weeks back. They all thought it was great fun! Abi's was a hit. We just put a empty water bottle in the center and combed the hair around it. Kinda fun! Spencer and William just looked a little crazy. William has crazy hair most days, so he put pony tails in cuz that is a little different from the normal.

Conference Weekend

Jody and Brandon came and stay with us over conference weekend. We had a great time, great eats, and enjoyed the short time with them. And oh yeah did I say we had some good eats! We were cookin' up a storm and had some yummy meals. They included: stroganoff, ham, mashed potatoes (from the garden), potato rolls, pumpkin pie, scotcharoos, crepes and all the fixin's, blueberry muffins, pork loin, tomato/fresh mozzarella dish (Cami knows the real name), and fresh apple pie. There were some other side dishes, that topped each meal off nicely, but we seriously ate way too good. We just didn't want Brandon to forget us. :) They actually didn't have much time just hangin' out with us due to getting things together for their wedding which is only 2 weeks away! Crazy! We're glad your friends went home for the weekend so we could be your hosts! Good Luck with the wedding planning. See ya on the special day!
I am not too sure how this came about but glad we got the picture! Dog pile on Brandon!

Soccer ends

William is our first kid to play on a soccer team. He liked it quite well. His last game he play against the Mitchell's boy Adam. The Mitchell's are a true soccer family! Adam is quite the player. He doesn't mess around. Fun playin' against a great friend. David and Amy grew up together and now their kids are growin up together. Fun Times with the Mitchells!
Good game boys!

Eye Spy @ the Library

David signed up to help out with the eye spy window at the library. They finally called and got it scheduled. He was so excited to show his collection off. Thanks to the Wassmers and Grandpa Bretey David has become a Nascar fan. 17 has become his favorite number and yellow and black his favorite colors (along with purple). My kids can't go to the library without looking in.
Here is the outside of the window.
Behind the scenes.
Getting it all set up.
Me looking in from the outside.
Good job David! Looks great!!!!!!!!!!!

Decorations

I was asked to decorate for the stake Relief Society dinner. Kinda funny how it all turned out. They asked me a few weeks after I had helped David plant the garden. I got a little carried away and planted lots of gourds. After thinking about what I might do I had remembered that I had planted lots of gourds. From there I just prayed that the gourds would produce well. Much to David's dismay they did real well and over took everything else in the garden too. They made for wonderful decor though! Thanks for your help getting the poky plants out of the garden David.
There were 8 long tables and 20 round tables and some serving tables also. They all had a handful of gourds and we even had some to spare.
With the help of the the Dollar Tree we made it turn out quite nice and fall looking! Thanks to the few ladies that helped lay it all out! I couldn't have done it with out you!
It was all a blessing in my eyes as to how this all came about. The little things never cease to amaze me!

Flag Football Highlights

A couple of William's football highlights. He is a funny kid and oh so much fun to watch play any sport! Good hustle William!

The second run was one of the longest runs I have seen. He was lookin for just the right spot to run through. How do ya like that Grandpa?

David has also had some great plays. He has made quite a few touchdowns we just haven't got any on tape yet, but here are some other great plays!

You know your mom could watch you play sports all day! I love watching sports! I guess I have a little on my dad in me. :)

The weeks happenings

Spencer on the rings at Gymnastics. He is so cute!
On Friday I got a call from the Ballards (our old next door neighbors). They were coming up to buy a new vehicle and wanted to know if we would watch their kids while they went through the process. We were very excited to have them see them and they kids were so happy to have them come and play!
We had dinner and then played a game of Bang. It was if they had never moved.
The Ballard's 4 cute kids.

Saturday was a fun filled day with lots of sports. First we had David's flag football game. He is in the white shirt. His coach missed placed his blue shirt, but it was okay because he was easy to spot. This clip doesn't show any amazing play, I missed getting that one on film, but it shows how he can hustle. Good job David way to hustle!
Then William had a flag football game. He made at least one touch down and maybe two. Anyway he is a good little runner. He loves to play any sport and loves to run. Maybe mom can be on top of a good play next game and get a touch down on film. Good Job William way to RUN and RUN FAST!!!!!
Grammy and the Summers came to see all events of the day. They were having some races of their own at the football games.
Abi at her first level 5 gymnastics meet. She did a good job and had a fun time and that is the most important. Good Job Abi and Love the socks!
Sunday before the cousins left for home. It is always sad to see the cousins and Grammy leave. Thanks for coming and supporting the Bretey Family. It was definitely a party!
Just have to show our great big pumpkin plant in the front flower bed. It has taken over four rose bushes. Funny the seed came from the snowman's eye last winter and we couldn't bare to pull it up once it started growing. There are quite a few pumpkins on it as you can see a couple.
The little boys by the flowers. The flowers seem to have gotten much healthier since the weather is a little cooler. It is fun to have color in the yard.

Loop Campgroud Scout Camp

The scouts (11, 12, & 13 year olds) went on a camp. David and David said it was a lot of fun. They went on a 6.3 mile hike on Saturday. They hiked to a lake that was 9100 feet in elevation.

Here they are at their destination, South Willow Lake.
The boys made a raft out of logs they found around the lake. I understand it was pretty entertaining to watch them try to get back to shore. I guess they didn't have anything holding the logs together so the harder they tried to get back the more the raft came apart.
The lake is very clear and beautiful. They had a great time!

From the Backyard to the Table

Peaches, Pears, Plums, Blackberries, Apples, GrapesSo after 7 years of trees and plants being in the ground we finally have some goods. David went and picked things in the yard the other day. He then placed them neatly in a dish and we had to take some pictures, and yes believe it or not, we grew every item in our backyard. It is so exciting! What will 7 more years bring. I am thinking lots of work, but worth it. We went to by peaches on Labor day and they are double in price what we normally get them for, so it will be nice when our plants and trees start producing larger amounts. Really all the credit goes to Daivd. Good Job once again. You're the MAN!

William Soccer Tooth

William had a soccer game we got there and he couldn't leave his tooth alone. As you can see in the video he had his fingers in his mouth the first few pictures. He just had to come out of the game and we had to take care of business. He is such a funny kid! We Love Ya William!

Abi @ Clear Creek

I got to go with Abi to Clear Creek. I was so lucky because there were lots of moms from her class and I my name got drawn out to go. YEAH! It was really fun. They take 5th graders up for an over night field trip basically. It is up in the mountains by Scofield. They have cabins and a main eating hall. It was a fun adventure to share. David went with David last year, so now it was the girls turn. Taking a hand at tie dying.
Finished product.
This is the Wall.
They had to work together as a team and get everyone up and over the wall.
Right up Abi's alley. She loves climbing.

This is how they got down a latter in the back. No jumping off the front of it.
The cafeteria.
Abi is not too fond of corn dogs. Luckily she didn't starve. For breakfast they had cold cereal and lunch the next day they had cinnamon rolls and she had plenty of those.
This is where we bunked for the night.
Here is the whole class. Ask me about Luis sometime. He is a funny boy.
Too long of a story to type today, but funny!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think Abi has a good teacher this year. She is Miss Smith she is the tallest on the top. Abi is front and center with the hat and a navy hoodie on. I am on the right end with a brown hoodie on.
We had a hike that was fun. We learned of the hermit that is said to live there. In 1900 there was a mine disaster in Scofield and they couldn't account for one man so they figure he became a hermit due to injury to his body.
Lots of pretty wild flowers to be seen on the trail. Abi loves any wild flowers. We had a great time. Thanks for wanting me to come Abi! It was fun to be a 5th grader again. It was a great memory to share just me and you!

Spencer's First day of Kindergarten & My Birthday

My baby is going to kindergarten.
I can't believe the day really came. It was kinda an emotional day for mom. He is so excited though. Such a cute kid!
Gettin' on the bus.
He is so excited to finally be able to ride the bus with Abi and William.
On the way home I went to the school and rode home with all the new kindergartners. I just help make sure the kids got off the right stop ect. It was fun and I got to snap a few shots.
Cute kids Tommy, Spence, and Alex.
After all the kids got off the bus mom pulled out the real deal. I always make cookies for the kids on their first day of school. Since I knew we would be riding the bus I brought them with me and let him eat them on the bus. He was so excited his favorite cookie!
When we got the off the bus back at the school the bus driver asked if Spencer liked Star Wars. We said yes and he gave him his Happy Meal toy. I guess you are never too old to get a happy meal from McDonald's. Thanks bus driver!
Celebrating my birthday. Thanks for all the calls and cards and gifts. It was a great day even if I was home all alone for part of the day. It is a little adjustment not having any kids home all morning. Becky took me to see the musical "Oklahoma". The local Arts council put it on. It was a good change of pace. We hadn't been to a play for a long time.
Thanks Becky you're a great sister!!!!!!

Lots of Grapes!

We had lots of grapes on the vine this year . It is exciting to finally have things produce. The grapes were so sweet and juicy. So I guess we didn't have tons, but more than any year before. David decided to make grape juice. Abi thought it looked like fun so she is joining in the fun. We ended up with a gallon of grape juice. Good Job Dad!

David's first court of Honor

David is a Tenderfoot Scout!
Dad should really be getting the pin. We will give him all the credit though. Good thing David is in scouts now. He can keep our boys on track! Thanks dad for your help and hard work.
Good Job David! Keep up the good work!
